Bernie Senior Beta Fundraisers
Concession Stand
The Bernie Beta Club shares concession stand duty with other clubs on campus. Betas work concessions from August to May and the Beta Club splits the profits with the other clubs. Betas have to cook food, serve customers at the windows, and clean up afterwards. The money from the concession stand is a significant amount of the funds used for general operations of the club. |
Volleyball and Basketball Ad Program Books
Betas wishing to attend state convention must sell $300 or more in business ads to go into the volleyball and basketball program books. The books are passed out at every home volleyball and basketball game displaying rosters and business advertisements. Betas not attending convention must sell at least two ads to maintain active membership. This money helps fund the convention costs, Adopt a Family service project, Staff Appreciation Week, graduation honor cords and Beta tassels, and our Beta scholarship of $500. Betas sell ads in May and through the summer with final ads due the first week of September. |
St. Jude Fundraiser
The Bernie Betas sold popcorn as a fundraiser this year. Betas went around the community, within their families, and to their friends to try to sell their popcorn. The proceeds from the popcorn sales went towards our current St. Jude donation of $4,500.00. We are working to add more to that donation before December. The former Bernie Beta Sponsor, Mrs. Carmode, will participate in the St. Jude Half Marathon in Memphis, TN this December. The half marathon is an addition to the donation the Bernie Beta Club gives to St. Jude. |
